Gransden Avenue mixed use scheme submits for planning

Guy Hollaway Architects has submitted a planning application for a new mixed use scheme in Hackney, a stone’s throw from London fields park, on behalf of our clients Gransden Avenue Ltd.

Situated to the East of London Fields Station and West of Mare Street, the development consists of 42 high quality residential units and 2041 Sq. M of B1 commercial space.

The project is located adjacent to the existing creative community, Mentmore studios, re-instating Fortesque Avenue to provide a connection which runs East / West through the scheme, creating access to the new flexible workshop spaces. The flexible space takes ideas from café culture, this will allow creative and likeminded people to work alongside each other in a collaborative environment acting as an incubator for vibrant business start-ups in the Hackney area. An elevated garden and public realm sits between the two residential blocks, designed alongside Hackney based Muf Architecture / Art.

The material palette with rust colored metal and a London stock brick refers to the previous roofs on the site and characteristic of the local area.
