The Fisheries - Construction Progress

The Fisheries broke ground earlier this year with O’Keefe as the concrete frame contractor and we are delighted to see the project progress on site.

A large hole has been dug in the ground to make space for the basement commercial floor and the bike stores. This stage of the construction takes us over 5 meters below the current pavement line. To date excavation under the existing building is complete, revealing where the future plant room and toilets will be housed. Excavation of the new basement is 60% complete and the site is busy weaving together all the rebar cages necessary for the pile caps.

The next stage of the construction will see a lot of muddy work trying to lay all the in-ground pipework. Only after that, once the floor slab is cast and liner walls added to the perimeter piling, will we be able to appreciate the true shape and size of the basement floor.
