Beechwood Farm Wins Planning

Guy Hollaway Architects gains planning for three one-off houses at St Michael’s in Tenterden, Kent, on behalf of our clients Jarvis Homes - Planning was awarded under delegated powers with support from the Town Council, for this site which is undesignated and sits outside the village envelope.

The emerging allocation policy for Beechwood Farm called for three exceptional houses meeting a requirement for outstanding quality and innovative design. The designs were carefully considered to reflect the highest standard in architecture enabling the dwellings to enhance their immediate settings and to be sensitive to the defining characteristics of the local area.

Set within a Designated Landscape Character Area on the edge of St Michael’s and overlooking a golf course these three unique houses sit within the hillside. The contemporary dwellings have been designed to fold into the landscape with undulating roofs following the topography of the site. Meadow grassed roofs and a living wall façades anchor the buildings to the landscape. Each house has been designed to take full advantage of the views with contemporary open plan living.
