Penultimate Day!

It’s been a long weekend but the boys are still smiling as they start to close in on MIPIM.

After a tiring couple of days battling hills and more hills the boys take on the penultimate day of the ride – today they will be cycling from Valence into Aix-en-Provence

Another early start with more rain! A cold, grey start led to some tough conditions on the road as the boys went through the Champagne region. Luckily the sun came out just before lunch and lifted everyone’s spirits, preparing the boys for the three shorter stages in the afternoon.

The bikes needed a bit of tlc following a muddy Stage 3 – it was a quick pit stop and a bike wash in the river before heading into a beautiful afternoon towards Dijon through vineyards and scenic French countryside. A refuel stop of incredible cakes in Vanvey after stage 4 gave everyone the final push they needed to get to the end.

755km down… over half way there!

Sunday started off like all the other days: very rainy. The boys rolled out of Dijon, into the most biblical of downpours, it was a tough stage as the majority was also in the dark, but they got it done. Experienced riders said it’s the worst conditions they’d ridden in!

The final stage of the day, into Valence, puts 295km in the bag!
