Urban Sports Park - Work Has Begun On Site.

We are thrilled to announce that Westridge Construction have moved in and work has begun on site at the world’s first multi-storey, urban sports park, in Folkestone. The extensive groundworks are underway to provide the foundations for the multi-level sports centre, designed on behalf of The Shepway Sports Trust. The unique building is set to transform Folkestone into a key destination for competitive urban sports, potentially becoming a place to train our future Olympians.

The proposal will be the world’s first multi-storey skate facility of its kind, providing a great opportunity for local and young people to engage in a range of urban sports, from skating and boxing to climbing and bouldering. Three levels of skate floors will add to the ever expanding skate and BMX scene in Folkestone, allowing it to act as an attraction for people to visit and enjoy. The project also offers a potential new home for the Folkestone Amateur Boxing Club. The overarching ambition of the project is to focus on the youth of the Shepway District and attract a national and international following to the town.

For the less adventurous, the project will also incorporate a café for use by people taking part in sporting activities and by spectators, and a rooftop function room with views across the harbour. Full wi-fi connectivity will enable transmission of skating competitions to viewers via sporting and social media outlets.
